1904. Louis Cartier fulfills the wish of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to read the time in flight. Thus was born one of the first wristwatches, sealing the friendship between two pioneers. Its dial with rounded angles, its hooks with a harmonious profile, and its apparent screws sign an iconic watch that will be the subject of multiple reinterpretations. Santos watch, large size, caliber 1847 MC self-winding mechanical movement. Steel case and 18-karat yellow gold bezel. Heptagonal crown decorated with a faceted synthetic spinel. Silver opaline dial. Blued steel sword-shaped hands. Sapphire crystal. Steel bracelet with "SmartLink" size modification system. Additional calfskin strap with interchangeable steel folding clasp. Both the bracelet and the strap are equipped with the interchangeable "QuickSwitch" system. Case width: 39.8 mm. Thickness: 9.08mm. Water resistant to 10 bars (~ 100 meters).
