Founded in Florence in 1860 as a workshop, shop and school for watchmakers, Panerai was for many decades a supplier of precision instruments to the Italian Navy. Originally created for use in the depths of the sea, Panerai watches are known for their unparalleled readability and brightness in the dark. In 1997 the brand was acquired by the Richemont Group and launched on the international market.
