PATEK PHILIPPE 5330G-001

Reference 5330G-001 sets a new milestone in the history of Patek Philippe. It is the first model of the brand with universal time and date indication. The firm's engineers have managed to synchronize the date with the local time without the privileged owners of the clock having to reconfigure it. An unprecedented fact.

To overcome this challenge, they have developed a movement with a dual-toothed disc system, which allows the calendar function to automatically coordinate with time zone changes. Thus, the date advances when the hour exceeds midnight, and recedes when it crosses the axis of date change, the meridian 180º. This is particularly noteworthy because Patek Philippe has been able to prevent the mechanism from running aground if these two changes are operated simultaneously.

All this is embodied in the self-winding 240 HU C calibre, which consists of more than three hundred components. The off-centre mini rotor, that can be seen thanks to the case with a sapphire crystal back, powers the watch, which can have a reserve of up to 48 hours. The 22-carat gold guilloché of this oscillating mass is yet another demonstration of the brand's attention to detail.

Patek Philippe has achieved a new watchmaking feat and has dressed it up with a pure design. The combination of the blue-grey colour of the dial and the white gold of the case makes the watch shine with its own light. The white gold indices applied and faceted rod-like display the time also at night thanks to the carefully placed luminescent white coating.

The universal hour ring features a sun and a moon at 12 and 24 hours respectively, wrapped by the calendar system marked with a transparent central hand, the first of the signature to work in this way. All topped off by the hand-sewn, blue-grey denim motif calfskin strap with a white gold folding clasp together with the rest of the watch.
